Rửa sạch rau thì là. Cắt thành khúc nhỏ rồi cho vào chén riêng. Cho thịt băm ra tô, nêm ít dầu ăn, 3gr hạt nêm, 5gr rượu trắng, 5gr nước tương, 2gr muối và trộn đều. Chờ khoảng 5 - 7 phút để thịt thấm vị.
Cho rau thì là đã cắt khúc vào thau thịt. Trộn đến khi các thành phần đều nhau thì bắt đầu cho vào vỏ sủi cảo để gói. Múc 1 lượng thịt vừa phải, cho vào vỏ sủi cảo, gập sủi cảo lại, ấn chặt 2 mép để khi nấu, nước không vào phần thịt. Làm lần lượt đến khi hết thịt và bánh sủi cảo.
Bắc nồi nước lên, đợi khi sôi thì thả sủi cảo vào. Nhớ khuấy nhẹ nhàng và tách các viên sủi cảo ra để chúng không bị dính với nhau, gây bể bánh và rơi thịt ra ngoài. Khi nước hơi đục thì cho sủi cảo vào nồi nước sôi khác nấu đến khi nhân và bánh sủi cảo chín đều.
